PRIVACY POLICY
Effective October 10, 2026, Last updated October 10, 2026At Pollen, discretion is part of the service. We are welcomed into private homes and gardens, and we treat the information you share with us with the same care. This policy explains, simply, what Pollen Bee Company, Inc. collects through pollen.la, why, and how we protect it.
If you become a client, your Customer Agreement also covers the details of your service, such as your property and your hive records.
What we collect
What you share with us. When you request a consultation, write to us, or call, we receive the details you choose to give: usually your name, email, phone number, neighborhood or address, and a few words about your garden.
What the website records. Our website is hosted by Squarespace. When you visit, Squarespace and its service providers may automatically receive basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device, approximate location, the pages you visit, and when. They may collect this information through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies.
Features from other companies. Our contact form may use Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam, and we may link to or display content from our Instagram and Facebook pages. When these features load or you interact with them, Google or Meta may receive technical information about your device and visit under their own privacy policies.
We do not ask you to submit payment-card information through this website.
How we use it
Only to look after you, our clients, and the website:
to reply to you and arrange your consultation or site visit
to provide our service, should you become a client
to understand how the website is used and refine it
to keep the website secure and free of spam
to keep proper business records and meet our legal obligations
Cookies
Some cookies keep the website running and secure; others help us understand visits. Where offered, you can manage nonessential cookies through the website's cookie settings, and you can always block or clear cookies in your browser. Some features may not work without them.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. It is shared only:
with the trusted providers that help us run Pollen, such as Squarespace and our email and accounting services, who may use it only on our behalf
with Google or Meta, when their features load or you interact with them on our website
with our professional advisers, when reasonably necessary for accounting, insurance, or legal purposes
with government agencies where the law requires it, for example for apiary registration
where needed to protect the safety, rights, or property of our clients, Pollen, or others
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it. Inquiry details are deleted once they no longer serve a purpose. Client information is kept for the length of the service and as required for legal, tax, insurance, and accounting purposes.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. As no system is entirely secure, please keep gate codes, alarm details, and other sensitive information out of the website form. We will gather what is needed in person.
Your choices
You may ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete what you have given us, by writing to hello@pollen.la. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will never treat you differently for making a request. We may retain certain records when reasonably necessary for the legal, security, tax, accounting, insurance, or recordkeeping purposes described in this policy.
California residents may also ask whether we have shared personal information with third parties for their own marketing. We have not, and we do not.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Our website does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals, as there is no common standard for them. Because we do not sell your information or share it for advertising, there is currently nothing to opt out of. Should that ever change, we will update this policy and honor browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control, as the law requires.
Children
Our website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please let us know and we will review and, where appropriate, delete it.
Updates
Should this policy change, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date.
